GENERAL CHOIR OVERVIEW
The Wichita Community Children's Choir is a vibrant, upbeat choir that provides children the opportunity to develop their music talent and enrich their lives through the singing of beautiful music. Our choir is unique in that children in grades 4-8 come together as one and create a unique sound. As a “musical family”, we come from many schools across the Wichita metro-area to form friendships and develop our musical talents.
Our songs cover a wide variety of styles including famous sacred and secular masterworks and songs from our American heritage such as folk, spiritual, jazz, gospel, and Broadway classics. We also enjoy singing music from many other countries and languages, promoting global harmony and inspirational messages. With high quality instruction and motivated singers, we develop a high level of musical artistry and discover the joy of singing.
Founded in 1992, the choir has performed by invitation with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra , the Wichita Chamber Chorale, and has been invited to perform for state, regional and national music conferences. The choir presents two major concerts in winter (Winter Prelude) and spring (Spring Sing) as well as numerous community events and festivals., including annual " ChorAll - Kansas Children's Choirs Unite" festival.
The choir looks forward to a trip this summer, including singing at our state capital.
WCCC singers pride themselves on being ambassadors of song to the Wichita area as they develop positive character traits and serve as confident role models while giving back to our community.
